The SkinPen treatment works in three simple steps, designed to activate the skin’s natural healing process.

Why Add PRP to Microneedling with SkinPen?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is created by centrifuging the blood to separate the red blood cells, white blood cells from the platelets and plasma. The platelets are then concentrated in the plasma medium. Platelet rich plasma is delivered to the skin while doing the micro needling, does delivering the PRP into the micro channels of the skin. Once the micro needling is completed another layer of PRP is applied on the skin.
The goal of the PRP is to release your own bodies growth factors and cytokines which which in turn will activate your own bodies healing capacities at a higher rate, stimulating neoangiogenesis and collagen production. This allows you to heal from the microneedle being faster, and improving the quality of the new skin.
How Many Treatments of Microneedling and PRP are recommended?
It is recommended to have 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart, every 12-18 months.
How is BIOS PRP different?

Jeuveau® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used in adults for a short period of time (temporary) to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines).
How do neuromodulators remove wrinkles?
Neuromodulators like Jeuveau ® and Botox ® contain primarily botulinum toxin. When specific muscles contract, they create wrinkles and frown lines in the skin. These modulators are injected precisely into these muscles. After it takes effect, the neuromodulator does not allow the injected muscle to activate/contract, and therefore thus not create the wrinkle.
What neuromodulators are available?
Jeuveau ®, Botox ®, Dysport ® are commonly used neuromodulators. Jeuveau ® is our neuromodulator of choice as it gives a more natural look to the treatment.
How long does neurotoxin take to remove wrinkles?
The neuromodulator will start working in 2-3 days, it will reach its peak effect in approximately 3 weeks and can last on average 3 months.
